How To: Make Your Own Balsamic Vinaigrette

Three ingredients, one bottle and you’ve got your own homemade balsamic vinaigrette. This is much healthier than what you’d find in the grocery store and it will dress approximately four salads! Spruce up your lettuce or dip some sliced raw veggies in it. I love sliced apples and carrots with a balsamic drizzle, it’s the epitome of sweet and salty!


  • 2 tbsp Balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • A few pinches of salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

1. Whisk together first three ingredients in a medium size bowl.

2. Slowly pour the olive oil into the mixture while whisking.

3. Taste and add more oil or vinegar according to your taste. Bottle the vinaigrette or toss your salad greens in it!

    • Thanks so much for the feedback, Brent! Yes, making your own vinaigrette is easy and it can be tailored to your taste! We didn’t include this but you can always add a little minced garlic (see older how-to post) or spice to your own. A good rule of thumb is a 2:1 ratio of oil to balsamic vinegar and you can go from there! Happy cooking!
